Secure Energy Services has announced that Allen Gransch, a long-serving executive, will be the next chief executive of the waste management and energy infrastructure company, replacing co-founder Rene Amirault. The company, based in Calgary, Alberta, revealed that Amirault will retire on May 1 but will continue to serve on the board as vice chairman.
Transition and Leadership Change
Gransch’s nomination for the board of election is scheduled at the annual shareholders meeting on April 26. Assuming his election, Gransch will officially assume the role of CEO from May onwards. Gransch has been an integral part of Secure since its inception, holding various key roles within the company over the years.
Career Progression at Secure Energy Services
Starting from company’s first year of operations, Gransch worked his way up within Secure. His roles included Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2012 to 2017, followed by Executive Vice President of Corporate Development in September 2017. In April 2019, Gransch was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and later became President in November 2022.
Board Changes
In addition to the CEO transition, Secure Energy Services also announced that Brad Munro, a director since April 2009 and interim chairman from June 2022 to January 2023, will not seek re-election at the upcoming annual general meeting.
