Erste Group Bank has announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Willi Cernko, will be stepping down from his role, with Peter Bosek being appointed as his successor.
Smooth Transition Planned
According to the bank, Cernko will continue to lead the Austrian banking group until July 1 of the following year, when Bosek will officially assume the position.
Impressive Track Record
Bosek, who currently serves as the Chief Executive of Luminor Bank in Estonia, brings with him over 25 years of experience working with Erste Group. He has previously held key positions such as CEO of Erste Bank Oesterreich and Chief Retail Officer of Erste Group.
Focused on New Role
In preparation for his new role as CEO of Erste Group, Bosek will step down from all his other commitments.
Advisory Role for Cernko
Cernko, upon stepping down from his position on June 30, 2024, will continue to support the bank in an advisory capacity until the end of that year.
Regulatory Approval Pending
Erste Group has noted that Bosek’s appointment is contingent upon receiving regulatory approval from the European Central Bank.
