At the opening of the U.S. stock markets in two hours, AppFolio Inc. (APPF) showed a significant increase of 12.4% in pre-market trading, while Booz Allen Hamilton Holding Corp. (BAH) experienced a 5.3% rise.
Notable gains were also observed for Coinbase Global Inc. (COIN), MicroStrategy Inc. (MSTR), and Autoliv Inc. (ALV), all of which posted increases of at least 3%. However, Paramount Global Cl A (PARAA) and Intel Corp. (INTC) faced declines in early trading, with drops of 18.7% and 10.9% respectively.
Moving on to market futures, the S&P 500 futures were down 0.07%, accompanied by a 0.04% decrease in futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Conversely, the Cboe Volatility Index futures saw a 1.21% increase.
In the commodities sector, Brent crude oil futures witnessed a decline of 0.79%, while gold futures rose by 0.27%. The price of Bitcoin also experienced a positive trend, climbing 3.86% to reach $41,477.
Adding to the picture, the 10-Year Treasury yield rose to 4.122%.
Regarding the previous regular trading session, the S&P 500 and the Dow each showed gains of 0.53% and 0.64% respectively. In Asia, stock performance was mixed overnight, with Japan’s NIKKEI 225 Index falling by 1.34%, while China’s Shanghai Composite Index increased by 0.14%.
Moving forward to afternoon trading in Europe, stocks are showing positive momentum as the STOXX Europe 600 Index increased by 1.05% and the FTSE 100 Index climbed by 1.30% compared to the previous close.
